The UK carrier Three revealed that the Galaxy S4 mini won't be getting the Lollipop update. The information was posted in their official Twitter account after an user asked a question.<br />

After asking them if they are sure, they claimed that they've received confirmation from Samsung.<br />

However, two days ago another user asked Three Ireland via Twitter about the update and they claimed that the update should already be rolling out to the users.<br />

In response to a question asked regarding the tweet that Three UK made a few days later, the Ireland carrier had this to say:<br />

<strike>In the end, it all seems very confusing. One carrier says they will release a Lollipop update, another says they cannot. A response from Samsung regarding an official Lollipop update for the international models has not been published yet but if a carrier decided to update theirs and it was possible, then we may just see an official update from Samsung. <b>UPDATE:</b> It is confirmed from Three Ireland that the update has been approved by Samsung. It should begin rolling out in the next couple of days or weeks.<br />

Great news! Until the CyanogenMod team begin officially releasing CM12.1 builds, our beloved xda developer F4k has already begun compiling unofficial builds of CM12.1 which is based off the latest Android version Lollipop 5.1.<br />
<br />
Those of you who eagerly wanted to try out the new Lollipop update now have the chance to do so by downloading and installing one of F4k's unofficial builds.<br />
<br />
The update improves stability and performance and also includes some enhancements and a few new features such as:<br />
<ul>
<li>Support for multiple SIM cards</li>
<li>Device Protection - your lost or stolen device will remain locked until you sign in with your Google account - even if someone resets your device to factory settings. It will only be available on phones and tablets that will come shipped with Android 5.1 in addition to Nexus 6 and Nexus 9</li>
<li>High Definition voice calling</li>
<li>Take control of your WiFi networks and paired Bluetooth devices directly from Quick Settings</li>
</ul>
And of course, all the customization features from CyanogenMod are also included in these builds.<br />

<li><span style="font-size: small;">Download the rom zip file according to your model from the above download link to your sdcard</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: small;">Download the <b>Gapps</b> package in order to have Google apps</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: small;">Power off your phone, boot into CWM Recovery by holding <b>Volume up</b> + <b>Home</b> + <b>Power</b> </span>keys simultaneously</li>
<li>Choose <b>wipe data</b></li>
<li>Choose <b>install zip</b></li>
<li>Choose <b>choose zip from /storage/sdcard/1/</b> (<b>choose zip from external sdcard</b> for older recoveries)</li>
<li>Choose the rom zip file then choose <b>Yes</b> to confirm</li>
<li>After rom has been installed, again choose choose zip from /storage/sdcard/1/ (<b>choose zip from external sdcard</b> for older recoveries)</li>
<li>This time flash the gapps zip file</li>
<li>After you are done, go back and choose <b>reboot system now</b></li>
